October's Costume Challenge!

Welcome to the final stop on our blog hop!  You should have made it here from Emily's Blog.

Don't you hate it when you come up with a challenge idea...share it with your partner in crime...e-mail it to your design it on the blog...and then have NO STINKIN IDEA WHAT TO DO WITH IT?  Sticker challenge?  What was I thinking?  LOL  I even contemplated being too "busy" to do this hop, so I wouldn't have to do it.

Good thing I am more stubborn than that.

I got out my handy dandy book, The Scrapbook Embellishment Handbook by Sherri Stevenson, and started browsing for ideas.  I found one in the sticker section (who'd have thunk it?) about covering chipboard with stickers.  Hmmmmm....  I have OODLES of chipboard.  So I got out one of the hearts and a sheet of owl stickers.

I overlapped and layered the owl stickers on the chipboard heart, being careful to keep it looking random and not linear.  Then I flipped it over and trimmed away the excess.

Here is my finished project: a card inspired by Scrapbooks Ect. cover layout.  Don't you love the SMILE sticker from Momenta?  It has some nice puffy, shiney demension to it.

So that is my story and I'm stickin to it.  Now to make sure I plan an easier challenge for next month.

Layering Challenge

My nemesis in the scrapbooking world is layering.  There is a fine line between dimension and bulk and I tend to be on the more cautious side and go flat.  I have taken some online classes on layering and clustering and they have really helped with the way I design my pages.  Here is my layout for this challenge.  It is not bulky at all, but laytered as many things as I could.

It is amazing how just overlapping some things can make a difference.

October Counterfeit Kit!

It is time for our next Counterfeit Kit!  Can you guess what we picked?

**There is a really soft, pretty main kit and, if you scroll down, a great Halloween Kit, too!

Okay, now I have something funny to tell you.  You are going to LAUGH!!!  Okay, I had to be frustrated or laugh, so I picked laugh.  :)

When we pick our kits, we have a lot of links flying back and forth between Meridy and I.  Sometimes it gets hard to keep track of what link we are meaning for which month.  This was one of those time.  So I did the Halloween Kit:

Trick Or Treat

Really busy mix of patterned papers...LOVE IT!

Some fun journal embellishments that I just haven't gotten around to using..and a great alpha!

Nifty Orange Mini Album...and some paper sacks so I can make...?

Love these emellishments!  The monsters are fabulous!  Hate to stop hoarding them!

Okay...I just bought these...I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!  The little boy in the monster suit?  AWE!

Really old trims from my stash...Do you see the cute brads?

And then...wait for it...did a kit from the OTHER link we were going to do for Little Red Scrapbook.  Sigh.  Yep.  I did.  It is the kit we had ORIGINALLY picked to do for October, but then I only sent the above link the Design Team and they all made THAT we had to scrap the kit we had actually picked (I didn't want to tell all of those lovely ladies to take apart those kits and do the other one...LOL).

But I did the original one.  And here is the link for the kit I counterfeited:

And here is the kit I made.  Based on a completely different kit from our Design Team.  Nice, huh?  LOL

Awesome Stickers (alot from Momenta...I can't wait to play with the Design your own stickers...)

Fun trims, flowers and butterflies (Pam made the butterflies...aren't they pretty?)

Cricut cart in case I need more flowers.  :)

This is my kit and I am sticking with it.  :)  Now get cracking!  We have some kits to put together!
